Traveling is always an opportunity to create something. But when traveling solo, finding a subject for a short film can often be tricky. So, in the summer of 2021, on a road trip from Salt Lake City to Denver, I purchased two lawn flamingos who looked as if they had star potential.

‘Los Flamencos Rosados’ is my homage to the spaghetti westerns of the 1960s – and a titular nod to the John Waters 1972 gross out comedy.

Special thanks to colurist Thomas Gill for his help.
