New York is a city iconicized in popular culture across the world. Much like the city, its print publications have a reputation and influence beyond the city limits. Growing up overseas, I knew them not by the content of their articles but by the defining design of their typographic logos.

For this project, I approached the animation as a chance to showcase the individuality of the typography. Behind the animation, I added archival footage of the city which corresponded with the era of each publication in its heyday. Finally, I found music that matched the frantic pace of New York’s newsrooms.
