In spring 2020, as COVID-19 spread around the globe, something beautiful started happening. People came together to applaud the frontline workers taking care of us. But no matter how loud we clapped, those we applauded were often too busy working or recuperating to hear it.

So we built The Clapping Clock: a website that aggregates and memorializes these moments of celebration from major cities around the world. Suddenly a local round of applause, could reach a global audience and a few minutes of clapping, could last forever.

Although the website is no longer online this video captures a sample of the content that it hosted.

Special thanks to WPP for believing in the idea enough to pay for the hosting and everyone at Hudson Rouge who volunteered their time to help develop it.
